600GL Multiple Layers

Often when stripping the coatings off of an older piece of furniture or baseboards there will be more than one layer of paint. Some paint stripping products do well with single layersof paint but our Paint & Urethane Stripper (also known as 600GL) excels at removing multiple layers of paint with a single application to the coating.

To see just how strong our number one paint remover product, 600GL Coatings Remover, is when it comes to various layers, we  put it to the test by piling layers of colorful paint on top of each other and letting the product work. We poured multiple layers of paint into a cupcake pan, one after another, letting each one dry before pouring the next. Then we took the thick chunk of dry, layered paint out of the pan and cut it into a small square. All together, we had 25 layers of paint!

To test 600GL Coatings Remover’s abilities, we improvised a little by using a cap with a hole in it to pour some of the product inside to sit and eat through the multiple paint layers. The cap made it so the product would stay in one spot the whole time. In just a few hours, it was clear that 600GL had already eaten away numerous layers.

We cut through the middle of the square with a razor blade to see the results. The final outcome showed that 600GL Coatings Remover ate through 15 layers of paint over a two-day span! There was still plenty of wet paint remover left on the paint square so, if we had left it sit for a bit longer, we would have seen even better results.

Franmar’s 600GL Coatings Remover uses its industrial strength to strip through epoxies, acrylics, paints, urethanes, and polyurethanes on virtually any surface. 600GL isn’t just 100% biodegradable, non-caustic, and non-hazardous, it’s also great for breaking through layers and layers of coatings.
